The suburban residential architecture of the Victorian era (from 1837 to 1901) as a mirror reflects the peculiar processes taking place in English society. The aim of the monograph was to show on a fairly extensive material, how various aspects of manor construction are changed during this long period: the planning structure of the house and the functions of its individual premises, the choice of the architectural style, the role of the customer and its relationship with the architect.
