Back in the 1980s, the philologist-Slavist Svetlana Shnitman-Makmillin wrote the first major academic study of Moscow-Petushkov. Approved by Venedikt Erofeev himself, this work for a long time remained fundamental for philologists - but at the same time inaccessible. The new edition of the book corrects this situation. Shnitman-Makmillin does not just offer a commentary on the work: her book is a deep study of the intertext, explaining the legitimate place of Erofeev’s poem among the world classics. The work is published in the framework of the Non -Kannonic Classic project (the “UFO” “Scientific Library”), the fruit of which has already become collections of articles and materials dedicated to D.A. Prigov, V. Sorokin, V. Sharov and the Lianozovo school . Svetlana Shnitman-Makmillin-PhD, professor of the Higher Slavic Studies and Eastern Europe of the University of London
