A collective study is devoted to various aspects of the creative fate, art and heritage of Vasily Ivanovich Shukhaev (1887-1973) The articles of domestic and foreign scientists contain new information about the St. Petersburg, Petrograd, Leningrad and Georgian periods of the artist’s life, about his many years of creative activity in exile and in conclusion on Kolyma. The main attention of the authors of the monograph is pointed on the art of Shukhaev-a unique academic drawing, painting, works of book-journal and theatrical and decorating art, as well as at little-known exhibitions and the pedagogical heritage of the artist, which generally actualizes his extensive creative heritage.
