Juan Binhun (1865-1955) is an outstanding figure in Chinese art. At birth, he received the name Maokhi, also bore the names of the scratch, Pujen, Puchen and Pitsin. Binhun called himself and worked under the pseudonyms of Yuyan (giving patronage), Hunsou (rainbow elder) and Juanshan Shan-Jongen (inhabitant of Mount Huanshan) He was born in the district of Jinhua Zhejiang Province, grew up in the county of She Province Ankhoy. Since childhood, I was interested in painting and carved seals. In 19887 he left for Yangzhou, where he learned to draw landscapes Shanshui ("Mountains and Rivers") with Zheng Shan, and the paintings of Huanyao ("Flowers and Birds") - at Chen Chungan. After 1907, he moved to Shanghai, where he first worked as a journalist and art editor in newspapers and publishers, and later began to teach in schools. In 1937, Juan Binhun settled in Baypin, where he was invited to become a member of the Commission on the assessment of the antiques of the forbidden city. At the same time, he occupied the posts of the scientific director of the Research Institute of Chinese painting and a professor of the Baypin School of Arts. In 1948 he returned to Hangzhou, taught at the National Hangzhou art school. In recent years, he was the deputy chairman of the East Chinese branch of the Union of Artists, as well as a member of the board of the Union of Chinese artists.
Juan Binhun created magnificent paintings in the genres of Shanshui and Huanyao, paid special attention to the image of nature. Fame to the artist came quite late, the Huang Binhun Museum was opened in Hangzhou only in 1999
