The second book of the three-volume about the Norwegian traveler Tour Heyerdale covers the period from October 1947 to 1970. A journey to Polynesia on the Balzov Raft "Kon-Tiki" made Heyerdal famous. The book and the film about this swimming turned it into the most famous Norwegian, brought financial success. But it was much more difficult to convince Heyerdal about the settlement of Polynesia in the seriousness of the scientific concept of the Academic World. Heyerdal"s titanic efforts in this direction are a significant part of the story of Ragnar Kwam. The biographer about Heyerdal"s search for traces of the Indians of South America on the Galapagos Islands and the expedition to the island of Easter is very entertaining in detail and very entertaining. Two attempts to cross the Atlantic Ocean on the reed boat ("ra-I" and "rau") are also described. From the pages of the book, the public and family life of Heyerdala appears multifaceted. He was not only a fanatical traveler gifted by a researcher, but also a true "citizen of the world" who sought to draw the attention of the UN to the problem of pollution of the ocean, connecting people from different countries in his team
