This monograph sets out the reasons for the creation of Tokugawa Tokugawa, the synthetic sanctuary in Nicco. The first part provides a detailed description of the buildings of the main complex and burial indicating architectural styles and decorative and artistic decoration, supplemented by drawings made by copyright photographs. For the first time in domestic Japanese, a complete description of the artistic decor of the sanctuaries of the sanctuary, which includes sculptural and picturesque compositions, is given. The monograph is complemented by 163 illustrations, of which 26 copyright drawings, 15 photos of the late XIX - early 19th centuries, showing the diversity of the decor of the sanctuary buildings. The second part of the book discusses the features of the iconography of plastic forms, issues related to the sculpture of the second -plan in the plastic system of decor, the stylistic features of relief images, syncretism of the synth and Buddhist styles of architectural forms and artistic solutions. An attempt was made to determine the specifics of the development of the Nikkov sculpture showing what level she could reach the plastic during the centuries -old period of its existence
