The monograph considers the problem of the formation of intercultural competence in the process of literary education in the study of a work of art. In the study, the author illuminates the evolution of the concept of “intercultural competence”, presents its vision and understanding of the concepts of “ethnophilological competence”, “intercultural consciousness”, reveals the content of intercultural competence oriented to fiction, and proposes the concept of the pedagogical model of the formation of intercultural competence based on the study of artistic texts World Literature. The book presents the developed criteria and levels of formation of intercultural competence among philologists, the experience of the practical implementation of the process of forming intercultural competence in training / studying worldwide literature is demonstrated. The proposed technique can be successfully used in the process of teaching native literature.
