The book discusses the role of sculpture in the 20th century and in the previous centuries of art history. The question of the nature of plastic is posed. What is this (arbitrarily free) variation on the topic of the human body or simply any subject in space? Depending on the answer, one can imagine the current state of this type of art either critical, implying doubts about the viability of plasticity, or experiencing unprecedented heyday, because from the point of view of three -dimensional objects almost all these days have become a sculpture. Leaning towards the first option, the author expresses the hope of continuing the truly plastic, that is, related to the representation of the body of artistic practices, is completely not necessarily in the (narrow) sense that now give the concept of "bodily"
