The book explores the spheres of court artistic culture of Russia of the first quarter of the 18th century related to the design of the new state ceremonial, and their further development is traced. The authors examined the main ceremonies regulating the life of the monarch and his family - coronation, marriage and funeral, triumphs and solemn meetings in Russia and other countries, and order holidays. Particular attention is paid to the symbols of power and award signs, as well as jewelry in the Russian court. The work provides and analyzes a wide range of visual and written materials stored in domestic and foreign museum, archival, library and private collections. The author’s text is supplemented by documents of the XVIII century and a rich illustrative row.
