The myth of Russia is considered in the monograph as a holistic semiotic structure of national culture. Expressed in images, stereotypes, judgments, plots, this semiotic structure develops gradually, based on the ideas about “its” and in direct connection with the complex cultural, historical and socio-political context of the era. Its main function is the conceptualization of the experience of perceiving the phenomena of the world of a different culture, its most important characteristic - the relationship of all the essential results of this conceptualization.
The monograph describes the stages of the formation of the myth of Russia in British culture, determines the features of each stage and analyzes - with varying degrees of depth and breadth of texts - the form of the existence of myth in British fiction with CP. Until now. Particular attention is paid to the unique in the history of the British myth of Russia and Russian -British relations period of the line of the 19th - XX centuries. The book is a revised and supplemented publication of the monograph of the same author, published in the publishing house DirectMedia in 2014, the theoretical part is substantially compressed, the materials of the practical part are clarified and expanded.
