This volume contains the study and publication of the ancient Slavic translation of the life of Vasily of the new, presumably executed in ancient Russia at the end of the XI century. For the first time, the earliest surviving Russian manuscript of translation is published, not included in the set of the Great Mines of the Cheth Metropolitan Makarii. For the first time, the unexplored Byzantine Code of 1328 is published from the monastery of Dionysiat on Athos, closest to the Church Slavonic translation and to the original author"s version of the life. The research part includes a description of the language and meaningful features of Church Slavonic translation and Greek original, the features of which preserves the Code of 1328. The place of the senior translation of life in the circle of ancient Russian transfers of the pre -Mongol period is determined. It is proposed to reconstruct the characteristics of the original text of the life, to which the published Greek text from the collection of the monastery Dionysio and the senior Slavic translation dates back.
