The study manual of a textbook type continues to study the perception of the Urals by contemporaries - writers, journalists, historians. Consideration of the ideas about the image of the region began in the first book "The image of the Urals in documents and literary works (from antiquity to the end of the 19th century), published by the publishing house last year. The current issue contains artistic texts that have become the classics of domestic literature (among their authors - D.N. Mamin -Sibiryak and B.L. Pasternak, A.P. Gaidar and P.P. Bazhov, A.N. Tolstoy and other outstanding Writers), as well as works of writers who are undeservedly forgotten.
The organizing idea of a selection of fiction and documents, poems and newspaper notes became brilliantly formulated by another classic of the 20th century - A.T. Tvardovsky - the definition of the priest -ural:
"Urals - the support edge of the power,
its mining and blacksmith,
the same age as our ancient glory
and the glory of the current Creator.
