The image of the author in a literary work. Tutorial

The training manual considers one of the central problems of modern literary criticism - the form of "presence" of the author in the work. The thoughts of the writers themselves about the place and possible roles of the author in the text are correlated with the conclusions of philologists of the twentieth century. The book explains such concepts as the image and voice of the author, the narrator and narrator, the lyrical hero. The varieties of narration in epic works, features of author’s activity in lyrics and drama are considered.
