A study dedicated to the iconostal construction of the XVII century in the temples of the Moscow Kremlin and the Moscow Region Palace villages is based on archival sources, a significant part of which is first introduced into scientific circulation. The process of creating trembling barriers in the 1670s and 1690s is considered through the prism of the activities of wood masters, gold, icon painters, painters of the arms chamber, the order of the Great Palace, the Embassy Order, the Silver Chamber. According to the documents of the palace archive, descriptions of the iconostases were drawn up at different periods of existence and the key events of the 18th - early XX centuries were given, in connection with which the transformation of the appearance of the monuments took place
