For the first time in the book, on the basis of a wide range of archival sources, the process of creating in the XVIIV was investigated. Masters and icon painters of the arms chamber and the embassy order of iconostases for the seventeen churches of Moscow monasteries - Novodevichy, Donskoy, Vysok -Petrovsky and Simonov. On the basis of written documents of the XVIII - early XX centuries, the events related to the "renewal", the repair and reconstruction of temple trealt barriers, the monastery descriptions and iconographic materials made it possible to show their features - the structure and decor of the wooden frame, the composition of the icons and their artistic design - on certain stages of existence.
