The formation of global culture and conflicts of civilizations

The monograph of the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences A. S. Zapesotsky is devoted to the comprehension of very relevant processes: on the one hand, this is the formation of a global culture, on the other, an aggravation of conflicts of civilizations. This is the first attempt of a comprehensive analysis of the materials of international Likhachevsky scientific readings, which are held in St. Petersburg State University in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin "On the perpetuating of the memory of D. S. Likhachev" dated May 23, 2001. Every year, the scientific forum collects over 1,500 participants. To date, the university published 3795 reports of authors from 57 countries.
The book is a kind of dialogue of the author with speakers - academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences and members of foreign academies, leading domestic and foreign politicians, artists, social figures. The publication is called in a popular form to help the reader understand a number of complex and ambiguous processes of cultural development in the XX - early XXI century.
