The Divine Comedy

Dante Aligieri (1265 - 1321) is a medieval Italian poet and public figure.
Dante"s early verses call the researchers the “first lyrical autobiography” in world literature. Dante sincerely tells them about his platonic love for Beatrice - the image had a real prototype Beatrice Portinari, which the poet saw only three times. Young Beatrice became the subject of dreams, visions and dreams of Dante, illuminating his poetry with the light of a sincere cordial feeling.
Above the main creation of his life “Divine Comedy” (1300 - 1321), Dante worked for many years and managed to complete in the very last months of his life . Dante called his work “comedy”, implying by this its “middle style”, a prosperous finale and entertainment. The epithet Divine suggested the comedy Giovanni Bokkaccio. Dante greatly modified the popular “walking through torment” genre at that time, as he showed not only the depths of hell, but, being a living person, went and described all the areas of the afterlife at that time. The earthly mind in the “Divine Comedy” is embodied by the poet Virgil, who accompanies Dante on hell and purge, but leaves on the threshold of paradise.
