The development of sociocultural skills in students with intellectual disorders. Program

The manual presents the program and notes of classes on the development of sociocultural skills in children with intellectual disabilities. The program "The world in which I live" was developed by the authors in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of the Education of Students with mental retardation for solving correctional and educational problems. The program is aimed at developing general cultural and social components, solves educational, correctional and educational problems, and forms life competencies.
The program includes 8 modules, which makes it easy to adapt it to the educational needs of various categories of students.
Classes on the presented program are aimed at:
- the development of coherent speech, the formation of a grammatical structure of the language to improve communication skills in society,
- enrichment of vocabulary,
- an increase in sociocultural skills,
- socialization and self-realization of students with disabilities,
- increasing the level of education and culture of behavior,
- The ability to work in a team,
- creatively approach training and work.
The textbook is addressed to teachers working with children with intellectual disorders. The materials of the manual can be used when working with other categories of students with disabilities
