The Canterville Ghost

Literary scholars attribute this funny story to the genre Gothic-humorous fairy tale.

The events of the book take place in the castle of Kenterville, over which the ancient curse gravitates. The American ambassador to the UK, alien to sentimentality, buys a “ghost castle” and settles there with his wife and children. The ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville is furious. To return the silence and peace to the castle, the ghost is trying to intimidate the new residents.

But, alas, the children are not afraid of either blood spots or ringing rusty chains at night. Moreover, the children considered the ghost threats as an invitation to play.
