The book proposed to the reader was written by a prominent cultural figure of the Silver Age, director, theater expert and teacher Yu. E. Ozarovsky (1869-1927) This book reminds the modern reader about the boundaries of culture, when the sounding Russian word creatively influenced the self -consciousness of the Russian public. The author offers a detailed theory of artistic reading, which contains two departments. The first (recitation) department examines the logic, psychology and aesthetics of artistic reading in detail. Here attention is paid to both general provisions, such as the logical center, the logical pause, harmony and the timbre of reading, and the provisions relating to individual genres: fable, satire, poem, etc. In the second (diction) department, the author describes such properties of the human vote As mobility, strength, completeness, speaks of the teratology of sound, gives recommendations for the setting of the correct pronunciation. In addition, the book contains a bibliographic note, including literature on the theory of recitation, as well as a dictionary of a reader and a dictionary of names.
