The basics of optics at the Technical University. Tutorial

The textbook is written on the basis of a course of lectures on the discipline "Fundamentals of Optics", which for a number of years were read to students of optical specialties of MSTU named after N.E. Bauman. The electromagnetic theory of light is described, the interaction of light with isotropic and anisotropic media, photometry and thermal radiation, phenomena of polarization, interference and diffraction for coherent and partially coherent light, as well as elements of quantum optics are described.

In applications and tasks, the issues of practical application of theory are considered. For students, graduate students and teachers of technical universities, as well as for specialists working in the field of optics and its applications
