The book is dedicated to the life and work of Ivan Vladislavovich Zholtovsky (1867-1959), one of the most famous domestic architects. His creative path covers several historical eras: having begun in the Russian Empire, he continued in revolutionary Russia and ended during the introduction of mass panel housing construction. It was a path from an unknown assistant to St. Petersburg architects to the patriarch of the Soviet architectural school. The list created by Zholtovsky and his employees-employees is very extensive, and this circumstance determined the volume and structure of this publication. Using a wide range of sources, including previously not published archival documents, the authors of the book made an attempt to reconstruct the biography of the architect and give a chronologically built description of his work
