The monograph is devoted to the study of intertextuality as a linguistic, literary, aesthetic and cultural phenomenon of modernity. The study reveals the meaning of the concept and the adopted and author"s interpretation is given. The phenomenon of intertextuality is analyzed in the framework of the style of the text, comparative analysis of the text, as well as the theory of translation. The analysis of the phenomenon is a level comparable study conducted on the material of the artistic text of the heterogeneous genre nature of the modern British author Jasper Forde and its translation into Russian. The monograph discusses in detail the problems of translation into a foreign language of various groups of own names and issues related to a change in the intertextual background of the named after the translation. The author also analyzes the ways of the existence of allusions and quotes, the specifics of actualizing the language game and constructing occasionalisms in the text of the original and the text of the translation. A separate chapter is devoted to the study of the intertextual component in the original and translated at text and metate stroke levels.
