Tatar costume. Historical and ethnological research

The monograph is devoted to the history of the formation of the folk costume of the Volga-Ural Tatars, the features of the genesis of its ethno-regional complexes (Kazan-Tatar, Misharsky, Kasimovsky, Kryashen) The causes and paths of the formation of a national Tatar costume were investigated, modern trends in its transformation were identified, a visual and artistic reconstruction of a number of lost pre-national and medieval forms of the costume was presented and scientifically substantiated. As a comparative analysis, materials on the costume of Siberian, Astrakhan, Crimean Tatars, as well as other Turkic, Finno-Ugric and Slavic ethnic groups of Eurasia were widely involved. The book is addressed to ethnographers, archaeologists, historians, art historians, artists as a source for the development of modern decorative arts and all the history of the culture of the Tatar people interested in the history of the culture
