The book of the St. Petersburg historian and critic of Ballet Inna Sklyarevskaya is the first monograph in Russian, dedicated to the dancer of Maria Talloni - one of the most important figures of the era of romanticism. The unprecedented glory of this great ballerina and the absolute uniqueness of her art gave rise to a special myth of Taloni, who is intertwined with her genuine way. The author analyzes this myth and, on the basis of a wide range of sources, is trying to restore the choreographic content of the Talloni dance
