Hartmuth Kraft considers the taboo an integral part of civilization throughout its history. From the ancients (not to step on the ground, on which the foot leader stepped) to modern (black cat or fashion requirements) - taboos are invariably present in all areas of life, supporting identity, setting social boundaries and protecting from the "strangers".
