Mikhail Mikhailovich Prishvin (1873-1954) was born in the estate of the Khrushchevo Oryol province, in the merchant family. His father went bankrupt, and the family was left without a livelihood. Children received education thanks to their mother. Mikhail studied at the Yelets gymnasium, at the Tyumen Real School. Then he entered the Riga Polytechnic at the agronomic department. He was engaged in illegal political activity and was excluded. In 1898, M. Prishvin, a student of the agronomic department of Leipzig University. In 1902 he returned to Russia and published the first printed works on practical agronomy. In 1906, the first story of Prishvin "Sashki" was printed in the magazine "Rodnik.
Having left the service, he traveled around the country, looking for stories for books. As a result, he wrote the books "Dear Beasts", "Root of Life". During the Patriotic War, he writes "Tales of Leningrad Children", "Tale of our time", a fairy tale-wholly "pantry of the Sun". Passion for hunting and local history was reflected in a series of hunting and children"s stories that included in the book "Calendar of Nature"
