The book is dedicated to the Soviet school of the 1950-1960s. The retrospective context of the social history of Russia discusses a wide range of issues: educational policy and its material support, reorganization of the separate training system, “anti-cult” campaigns in school education, state programs for the elimination of illiteracy, the implementation of the “Viobook” policy, the creation of school-boarding schools, and a crisis of employment of graduates secondary schools and a number of others. In the focus of research interest, the problem “Student and teacher at school and at home” is also the problem. An educational reform of 1958 was studied in detail. The study is based mainly on archival materials from N.S. Khrushchev, Department of Schools of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR and a number of others.
The book is addressed to historians, teachers, sociologists and many other representatives of the scientific and educational community.
