The trilogy of Konstantin Simonov "Living and Dead", which tells about the Great Patriotic War, includes three novels: "Living and Dead" (1959), "Soldiers are not born" (1964) and "Last Summer" (1970).
The events taking place in the novel "soldiers are not born", in the second book of the trilogy, belong to the battle for Stalingrad in the winter of 1942-1943.
The trilogy is included in the list of "100 books on the history, culture and literature of the peoples of the Russian Federation recommended by schoolchildren for independent reading."
The publication is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
