The manual discusses the historical aspects of the evolution of public attitude to children with deviations in intellectual development from the first royal decrees of the late 17th century to date.
Particular attention is paid to the description:
- specialized state assistance in the Russian Federation to children with mental retardation,
- the basics of vocational training of students with intellectual disorders,
- the state system of legal support and social protection of children and adolescents with intellectual development disorders.
individual chapters of the manual are devoted to the didactic foundations of vocational labor training of students as one of the factors of social adaptation and rehabilitation of persons with mild and moderate degree of mental retardation.
The training manual is addressed to teachers, methodologists, tutors, organizers of additional vocational training, as well as students of defectology faculties studying in the field of oligophrenopedagogy and practical workers undergoing retraining in the training system
