The set of postcards includes lithography of fragments of the facade and interiors of the cathedral, which are part of the monumental work of the Basilica San Marco in Venice "Editor and publisher of the illustrated books of Ferdinando Ongania. ONGANIA began this work, seeing how, during the restoration of the southern part of the Cathedral of San Marco, the mosaic of the interiors of the chaplah of Zen and Baptisteria was partially lost. For 13 years, from 1877 to 1893, he carried out a grandiose publication, most fully captured by the exterior and interiors of the cathedral. The work consisted of 21 volumes, including 16 more format folders with illustrations and text and volume with artistic-historical descriptions, financial and archival documents. To the study and image of the monument onhania attracted famous historians, architects and drawers who reflected every detail of the cathedral. The publication was a huge success, the publisher in 1889 was awarded the medal of King Umberto I
