Alexander Stepanovich Green (1880-1932) - an outstanding Russian prose writer and poet, a representative of neuromantism. Green - the pseudonym of the writer, his real name is Grinevsky. Born in the family of the Polish gentry and a Russian nurse, in the Vyatka province. I learned to read at the age of 6, and his first favorite book - "Journey of Gulliver" Swift - determined the consciousness of the future writer: his love of the sea and fiction. Having studied at the Vyatka School, 16-year-old Grinevsky went to sailors, to Odessa, but did not find romance there and began to wander-he was a fisherman, a laborer, a lumberjack, a gold minister, a miner, a soldier, and even a surgeon -erer.
Having served in prison and escaping from it, in 1906, Green begins to write, during his short life he became the author of four hundred works. Already in his second collection of stories, the upcoming Green Skazchik with his unique style is noticeable. Dating with A. Tolstoy, L. Andreev, V. Bryusov, A. Kuprin have a considerable influence on him.
In 1919, recruited into the Red Army, Green gets sick typhus. With the assistance of Maxim Gorky, he manages to get an academician and a room in the "House of Arts", where he lives a gloomy hermit, but it was then that the famous extravaganza "scarlet sails" - a bright story about an ordinary miracle, born in the cold and hungry Petrograd. The story was published in 1923. In the same decade, Green writes the novel "Golden Chain" ("Memories of the Dream of a boy seeking miracles and having them") and a new masterpiece “Running along the waves”, which is hardly possible to publish. Green does not accept the revolution, her violence and madness, and the new century also does not accept Green.
