The book is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Civil War, raging from 1918 to 1920 throughout the territory of the former Russian Empire. The war gave rise to its dictionary, partly strengthened, partly remaining in the language in the form of one-day words, came out of the limited use of the vocabulary of underground circles, the jargon of hard labor and exiles, gained widespread expressively painted, jargon and argoting vocabulary, and the trenched dictionary of the First World War has appeared . All these layers are considered by the author and illustrated by examples from sources, including diaries, records, epistolary literature and evidence of contemporaries, books on the history of the Civil War, published in the 20-30s in Russia and abroad.
