Russian church architecture on the eve of the revolution

The book is dedicated to the heyday of the church architecture of Russia in the last pre-revolutionary decade: 1907-1916. The temples were then built by outstanding masters - Shekhtel, A.V. Shchusev, L.N. Kekushev, young brothers Vesnina and many other architects. The book differs in that it mainly consists of illustrations: only genuine projects and photographs of the pre -revolutionary time of the best church buildings, selected not by us, but by people of that era - special commissions of the Imperial St. Petersburg and Moscow Architectural Societies. So in the publication a true atmosphere of the magnificent era of the end of the Silver Age is transmitted. It is intended both for the general public, interested in the appearance of pre -revolutionary Russia, and for architects, artists, clergymen who today engage in the revival of church architecture
