Russian art. Norm and gap

This collection was prepared by the Department of History of Russian Art of the History Faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov based on the materials of March 1-2, 2018 at the Moscow State University of the conference “Russian Art. Norm and gap. The attention of the authors of the collection is focused on issues related to the norm in the art of various eras and periods of Russian art.
The norm, orderliness, the rules in art can be opposed to ruptures, decay or accelerated synthesis, and finally, deviations. In this coupling, the norm means calm, rupture - dynamics. But the dynamics are also possible within the norm. All these ideas serve to exacerbate the vision of art, they are able to give new angles for entire periods or on individual monuments. The publication is addressed to historians, art historians and architecture, culturalists, students and graduate students, as well as a wide audience interested in the problems of Russian artistic culture
