In this work, urgent problems and features of the rhetorical culture of the personality of a modern Russian university teacher are analyzed, the evolution of oratory customs and the concept of a "linguistic person" is traced, a model of a rhetorical personality is proposed, and effective means of speech influence and interaction of a teacher with an audience, and mental characteristics of perception and assessment by students of a personality modern teacher. A new look has been proposed to solve the problems of increasing rhetorical literacy and rhetorical culture of modern teachers in Russia, to improve the training of future humanitarian specialists.
