The book proposed by the attention of readers contains essays on the Italian religious literature of the Middle Ages dedicated to various problems, genres and authors presented in the Italian literature of the XIII-XV centuries. The specifics of the works of the religious content of this era lies in the fact that the vast majority of the texts that have reached us are on the periphery of the literary space itself, but that is why they are largely interesting. On the example of such works, one can trace how the religious life of medieval Italy is reflected in written monuments, how the development of the literary language and the formation of the genres of religious literature, where the border between life and literature occurs.
