The collection proposed to the reader includes two books: "Beliefs of antiquity and superstition of our time" (1964) and "Shakespeare in the light of sacred art" (1966) In the first book, the author from a traditional position considers the features of the thinking of a modern (mainly Western) person, comparing the modern picture of the world with the spiritual knowledge of antiquity, the second book proposes a holistic interpretation of the late works of William Shakespeare, based on the disclosure of the main motives of his work through the prism of cultural-historical context of the spiritual atmosphere of the late Middle Ages. The first book is polemic in nature, while the second is an academic study in Shakespeare"s academic study in the UK, while both texts organically complement each other. High professionalism and stylistic gift of the author make a collection useful and interesting not only to specialists (culturalists, philosophers and literary studies), but also to every reader who seeks an effective approach to understanding cultures not noted by the influence of the worldview of the new time
