Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1904) - Russian writer and playwright, known throughout the world. The future writer was born in Taganrog in a merchant family and, from an early age, helped his father in his shop. In 1884 A.P. Chekhov graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University and engaged in medical practice. He began to write back in his student years - in 1880, his story and humores were printed in the magazine "Dragonfly. Since then, he constantly wrote short humorous stories under various pseudonyms, the most popular of which was Antosha Czechont. In 1890 A.P. Chekhov went to Sakhalin, who was considered the island of the royal hard labor and links to study the history and life of convicts.
