This book presents significant, but insufficiently known to the wide audience, episodes of mutual influence and interpenetration of Finnish and Russian cultures. They are considered through the prism of female destinies: as Finnish - from a simple peasant woman and the famous runopter Larin Paraske to the aristocrat and maid of honor of Empress Aurora Karamzina - and Petersburgers Anna Akhmatova and Elena Guro.
