Random processes and the problem of level intersections

The characteristics of the emissions, the intersection of the given levels, the extreme values ​​of random processes are a class of characteristics that allow us to describe the structure and probabilistic behavior of random functions. In their content, such characteristics belong to the direction of interdisciplinary research. The need to study them is associated with the solution of numerous problems from various areas of physics, technology and natural science.
The content of this work reflects the current state of research in the field of applied emissions theory and the general problem of "intersections of levels". Here, an attempt is made to systematize, generalize and develop the main results, an attempt to consider the problems of excesses of the given levels "as a whole" for the most common classes of random functions. A large number of new results are presented. This applies to the analysis of the probabilistic structure of time series, continuous random processes, random streams of events and random spatio-temporal fields. The possibilities of the general classification of applied tasks and the features of their solution based on the use of the characteristics of level intersections are shown.
