Reprint from the publication. Leningrad, 1924. Vladislav Felicanovich Khodasevich (1886, Moscow - 1939, Paris) - Russian poet, translator. He also acted as a critic, memoirist and historian of literature, Pushkinist. He is the author of a number of collections of poems and many works about literature. In this book, Khodasevich systematized and analyzed the author’s repetitions of individual words and situations with Pushkin. The book in bayonets was met by academic Pushkinists: the reason for this was, first of all, an article about the Mermaid. Khodasevich’s biographical approach to Pushkin’s work, met a friendly rebuff among Pushkinists, in this article he used to be straightforward caricature. In exile, Khodasevich rewrote this work and published it under the name On Pushkin. The book has lost its severity and polemic, disputed moments were removed. He wrote about the new publication: ... much has completely ceased to satisfy me, and much was subjected to a radical revision. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm of youth left the book.
