Gastfraind, Nikolai Andreevich (1854-1916)-author of historical and biographical studies about Pushkin. In 1875 he graduated from the Alexander Lyceum, the XXXIV lyceum student. In the same year he entered the service, in a class rank since 1878. Active state adviser. Officer of the department of the Empress Mary Empress. Correspondent of the Main Office of Horse Breeding, Honorary Member of the Novgorod Provincial Statistical Committee. At first, conceiving the creation of the "biographical and bibliographic dictionary of the pupils of the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo, now the Alexander Lyceum and the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum noble boarding house, N. A. Gastfrand, but was forced to limit himself to preparing materials about the first -year pupils. The book included "all printed material about each of the first -year pupils, from the manuscript material, letters of freshmen and between them and their former director Yegor Antonovich Engelhardt, their formular lists, etc., were included.
