Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin (1766 - 1826) - a major Russian writer, historian.
The son of a Simbirsk nobleman who received an education and private boarding houses, Karamzin went down in history as an innovator and reformer of the Russian language. He freed his native speech from an obsolete high -half syllable and introduced new words borrowed from foreign languages, such as" impression "," influence "," era "," scene "," harmony "," catastrophe "," future "and" future Mn. etc.
Karamzin was the first to give priority to feelings, and not to cold reason, teachings and morality as the traditions of classicism dominated in the literature. Opening the era of Russian sentimentalism, he gave the reader the possibility of empathy, bringing it closer to the described heroes.
This is his famous story "Poor Lisa": a sensual love story of a peasant girl and a nobleman. Karamzin took the plot from European love novels, but gave it reliability, describing a really existing place in Moscow and giving an unexpected tragic denouement unexpected for the literature of that time (the story was released in 1792) The illusion of documentary was so great that the readers called the pond a pond near Simonov’s Monastery "Lizin Pond", taking a fictional story in the real one.
Of course, first of all, Karamzin is known as the author of the multi -volume labor "History of the Russian State". He was engaged in its compilation for 22 years, until the end of his life, setting himself the goal of “choosing, fooling, coloring”, making “something attractive, strong, worthy of attention not only of Russian, but also foreigners” from Russian history, and indeed, the first circulation 8 -My volumes of "History" disintegrated in a month. Interest in history arose among Karamzin in the process of creating the story "Martha-Posad, or the conquest of Novgorod"
