Pablo Picasso was inspired by Frenchwoman Fernanda Olivier, whom he met at the beginning of his “pink” period in 1904. For eight years, she became his faithful companion, muse and model, who attested to the creative search for the early Picasso and the birth of cubism. When Picasso finally succeeded as an artist, he began to lose interest in Fernanda, who remained for him a memory of difficult times. Almost twenty years after relations with Picasso, Fernanda Olivier published memoirs about their life together. From 1896 to 1907, she kept a diary, which formed the basis of these memories of a stormy youth, a bright novel, Picasso and his friends
