In the popular reference book "Physics. From theory to practice "(translation of the British reference book" Newnes Engineering Science ", which has withstood three editions), methods, formulas, diagrams and reference data of the main sections of physics are presented. For the convenience of readers in the Russian version, the directory is published in two books. The first contains information on mechanics (with elements of the resistance of materials, parts of machines and mechanisms), optics, thermo- and hydrodynamics. The second is devoted to electricity and magnetism (with elements of electrical engineering, electronics and radio engineering) The reference book is unique, its characteristic feature is an infrequent in popular domestic literature a combination of theoretical provisions with their practical application. The second book of the directory is saturated with descriptions of electrical devices - from elementary capacitors, electromechanical relay and electric calls to powerful electric motors and electric generators. Attention is paid to the device of semiconductor devices and the calculations of circuits containing such devices. In detail the methods of calculating electrical circuits of DC and AC, including with the involvement of complex numbers are set out. The principles of work and the use of operating amplifiers, digital-analog and analog-to-digital converters are not forgotten. Briefly discussed the methods of transmission and features of passing electrical signals through communication channels.
The reference book is addressed to a wide range of readers - students, students of technical colleges, engineers and all those interested in technology. It is especially useful for practices who want to increase the level of theoretical knowledge, and also allows, if necessary, to refresh their scientific baggage and recall the half -forgotten formulas
