A thousand four hundred and eighteen days, which lasted the Great Patriotic War, became the most tragic and heroic pages in the history of Russia of the twentieth century. The emotional memory of these events lives in many ways today thanks to the feat of military correspondents.
Book "Photoletting of the Great Patriotic War. 1941-1945 "allows you to reconstruct the main events of the Great Patriotic War - from the battle for Moscow to the hooking of the Red Banner over the Reichstag and the Nuremberg process.
The publication cannot accommodate millions of personnel of hundreds of military photojournalists who worked on all fronts. Someone managed to go through the whole war from Moscow to Berlin, someone returned with severe wounds, many died. But they all knew that their pictures - "visual weapons" - help to fight at the front and work in the rear. All of them believed that future generations, looking at these photos, would do everything so that the tragedy of the Second World War, in which our country suffered the largest losses and in which it won, freeing the world from Nazism, did not repeat.
Among those who went with the camera to the front, there were such classics of domestic photography as Arkady Shaikht, Evgeny Khaldec, Georgy Petrusov, Dmitry Baltermantz, Mikhail Prekhner, Vsevolod Tarasich, Alexander Morozov, Ivan Shagin. The photographs taken by them, as the famous picture of D. Baltermant"s Woe, became a symbol of war and the warning of the now living.
This book is dedicated to the memory of all military photojournalists.
We hope that she will not leave anyone indifferent.
