In recent years, both in our country and abroad, approaches to comprehend disability and organization of psychological work addressed to people with limited health opportunities are changing. The medical disability model born in the 20th century formed the basis of many rehabilitation programs and to this day retains its dominant influence not only in the framework of the clinical directions of science, but also in the social policy of disability. The later social disability model turned the angle of view of scientists and practitioners from the content of the disease and deficits of the body to social resources of overcoming, however, leaving the efforts of the personality beyond the scope of analysis. To date, it is quite obvious that views on the tasks of overcoming health deficits should be revised from the point of view of the potentials that disability carries.
