Quantum mechanics, perhaps the most amazing section of physics, is discussed in this book from various points of view. The first part sets out the history of the creation of quantum mechanics and its main ideas that are born in the process of difficult to overcome the usual classical picture of the world. For some important examples (superconductivity and ultra flow, lasers, nanotechnology, quantum computer science) illustrates the applications of quantum mechanics in modern technology.
The second part is still devoted to unresolved conceptual issues (paradoxes) of quantum mechanics. It is shown how an attempt to solve them leads to a picture of parallel worlds (the so -called interpretation of Everett), and its logical continuation - to a new understanding of the phenomenon of consciousness and to explain its unusual capabilities, which at first glance contradict the laws of physics
