The new book of Olga Sedakova - the surge of her many years of work on the creation of a non -immovable, as close as possible to the literal, commented on the translation of the “divine comedy” Dante Aligieri. The book is opened by general thoughts about the principles of a new translation and commentary: thinking about the achievements of domestic and Western denture and the position of Russian literature, Olga Sedakova answers the question of what it means to “translate Dante” now. In this perspective, transfers and comments on the three songs of “Cleaning” and “Paradise” were prepared. In accordance with the tradition, Lectura Dantis, each song precedes the introduction, preparing the reader to meet with the text and helps to trace the course of Dante"s thought.
